The old kitchen had no access to the garden, no sitting area & no modern utilities. This project had to assure all of these aims, with a particular request that the sitting area should be in some way separated from, but still accessible from the cooking area. All modern utilities had to be fitted in, as well as ample storage space. The division between the two areas was solved by the use of a multi-purpose storage pole (which also avoids work-surfaces becoming cluttered) and also gives a more vibrant 7 colourful aesthetic impact. Round cupboard doors with shelving in the doors allow better access to the stored products and smoother passage when walking through the space.
