“Piazza SAN MARCO ed il Sestiere di Dorsoduro”
In the footsteps of Canaletto and Turner
“Homage to the Venetian Architects”
Adrian Tuchel is a member of the Society of Architect Artists in London, of The Ruskin Society, of The Turner Society and is member of the “Open Studios” Cambridge. He works and lives with his family in Cambridge.
Adrian Tuchel’s work results from many years of gifted artistry combined with architectural accomplishment, fuelled by his great passion for travel. Through his research into minimalism in drawing, his highly personal style has materialised, observing particularly transparency & light.
His drawings and his watercolours represent well-loved views, often in unusual dream-like angles - discovered & rediscovered places, seen through his eye, reducing the view to its very essence
This exhibition is the continuation of a long collaboration with the “Reale Societa’ Canottieri Bucintoro 1882” of Venice who will introduce the event. The ‘San Marco and the Dorsoduro’ subject marks the second phase of an entire arhcitectural itinerary of the city, which takes place every second year during the Architecture Biennale, which in 10 years time will have covered the whole of Venice with its Lagoon. The works begin with a homage to the great local Architects and finishes with a series of miniatures which show a portrait of the day-to-day life of the city through its bars, ice cream parlours markets, shops and hotels - all familiar images of the city. Tuchel makes us walk together highlighting details and gives life to a unique and heart-felt itinerary.Link to New Europe Society Events Link to next Event
